LAWRENCE, MA… Zulmira “Mira” J. G. Neves, beloved daughter of the late Manuel “Manny” J. and Agueda “Agnes” (Graca) Neves, beloved sister of Maria Graca (Neves) LaCroix, beloved aunt of Christopher Alan LaCroix and beloved sister-in-law of Alan LaCroix. She was also the beloved sister of the late Hernane Antonio Neves who passed at four months old in Portugal. Mira has 2 first cousins, many local friends and a few uncles who reside in Portugal.
Ms. Neves passed away in Lawrence, MA on Saturday, September 26, 2020 after a long illness. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, Zulmira came to Fall River in the 1950’s. Mira was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral, Fall River, MA. A very kind person, she saw the good in everyone. Very talented in her sewing, a two-piece suit she had made led to being viewed in the High School display window for many weeks. Her excellent grades in three years of high school, plus receiving her G.E.D. the following year made her very proud! Mira had a beautiful double-pawed cat named Smokey, for approximately 13 years. It originally was an abandoned kitten she had brought to the vet and proceeded to take excellent care of him. Mira worked at the Fall River Knitting Mills, now the beautiful location of the Knitting Mill Apartments. She volunteered at many local area establishments with and had a great sense of helping the community. The world is a little less vivacious and caring for not having her in our lives. Two more helping hands now, will show how one person at a time will make a difference in this world - as she so eloquently did. Rest in peace, sweetness.
Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, masses said for her soul would be appreciated or donations on her behalf to your favorite charity would also be appreciated.
