William "Billy" Soares

On April 6, 2017, after a short illness, the earth lost one of its kindest souls. William "Billy" Soares. Visitation and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 22nd 4-6 p.m., at Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main Street, Fall River, MA. As he walked through life he shared a smile with all he met. So stop on by and don't forget to bring your smile.
Billy was born August 19, 1959 in Fall River to Patricia Ann (Raposa) and William "Butch" Soares. He was a 1977 graduate of B.M.C. Durfee Highh School. Billy was accepted to Boston University's School of Law. He was a chef at the Venus de Milo for over 25 years. He loved all things theatrical. Acting, directing, and supporting community theatre groups. He loved the movies on the big screen, as well as, the little screen. Some of his all time favorite things were, Ann Margaret, Doris Day, Mary Tyler Moore, Sunset Boulevard, Diana Ross, Johnny Mathis, Elton John. Music, dancing, sharing stories and being with friends and family is what made him happy. One of his favorite places was "The People's University" (The Fall River Public Library).
Billy was preceded in death by his parents Patricia Ann (Raposa) (1967) and William "Butch" Soares (1989), his beloved "Gram" Marie B. (Smith) (1984) and "Shorty" Manuel Tavares (1984), all of Fall River. He is survived by Gary R., Christopher and Susan M. Soares of Fall River, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
