William J. Lopes

William J. Lopes, 65, of Warren, RI, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, in Fall River.

   He was the longtime companion of Maria Barboza.

   Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Edward Lopes and Evelyn (Raposa) Lopes.

   William was a dedicated laborer with Laborers' Union 271 until his retirement. A man of many talents, he was an accomplished guitarist who performed with several bands throughout his life. William had a natural gift for woodworking, crafting beautiful cabinets and furniture with skilled hands. His creativity extended to landscaping, where he took great pride in creating beautiful outdoor spaces. William was also passionate about boxing as both a sport and a personal workout regimen, maintaining his physical fitness throughout his life.

   Along with his longtime companion, he is survived by his children, Holly Viveiros (husband Carlos) and Kyle Lopes; his grandchildren, Addyson Viveiros and Lucas Viveiros. He is also survived by his former wife, Debra Medeiros, and Maria's children, Dawn Amado, Denise St. Germaine, and Paul Barboza. He was the brother of the late Edward Lopes

   Funeral services will be private.
