Thomas A. McElroy

SWANSEA… Thomas A. McElroy, 91, of Swansea passed away June 3rd, 2019 at Country Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was the loving husband of Lila (Correia) McElroy.

Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Peter Anthony McElroy and Mary Laura (Bouchard) McElroy. He had lived most of his life in Fall River.

Mr. McElroy was a Purple Heart Veteran of the United States Army and had worked at First National Stores for 40 years and Tiverton Liquor Store for 15 years, prior to his retirement. He was also a life member if the Woodrow L. Silvia Post #5392, in Tiverton, RI.

Along with his wife, survivors include his daughter: Pam Moniz of Swansea; his sons: Richard T. McElroy of Fall River and Joseph P. McElroy of Indiana; his sister Theresa McElroy of Fall River; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Cindy McGuire had several brothers and sisters predecease him.

Private services will be entrusted to the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME.
