Therese L. Silvia

FALL RIVER – Therese L. (Champagne) Silvia, 91, of Tiverton, RI, died Monday, February 19, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late John B. Silvia.
Born in New Bedford, MA, she was the daughter of the late J. Henri and Noella (Paradise) Champagne; she lived in Tiverton for most of her life and was a communicant of St. Christopher Church. She attended the former Thibodeau Business School. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and getting together with her siblings and their children.
Mrs. Silvia retired from the Foxboro Company where she had worked as an assembler for several years; having previously been employed by Raytheon in Dighton and by the former Bourne Mill of Fall River.
She is survived by a daughter, Susan DiSanto and her husband Robert of Tiverton; two sisters, Rita Schlieff of E. Bridgewater, MA and Claire Costa of Cincinnati, OH; two granddaughters, Christine Charette and her husband Raymond and Nichole Gerlach and her husband Tyson; three great-grandchildren, Autumn, Norah and Madeline; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Norman Champagne and Marcel Champagne.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 7:45 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main Street, Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Christopher Church, Main Rd., Tiverton. Committal prayers and entombment in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum, Stafford Rd., Fall River.
