Theresa (Ferry) Costa

FALL RIVER… Theresa (Ferry) Costa, 86, of Fall River, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022 at St. Anne’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the widow of the late James Costa.

Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Ferry and Gertrude (St. Laurent) Ferry.

Theresa worked for the majority of her career as a Bilingual Teaching Aide, in the Fall River School Department. After retiring, she also spent time volunteering in the St. Anne’s Hospital Gift Shop. She was an avid reader and spent her free time knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She also enjoyed traveling and trips to local casinos to play bingo.

She is survived by her daughters: Charlene Silvia (late husband James), and Victoria Costa, both of Fall River; her sister: Kathy Duclos, of Fall River; her grandsons: Justin Silvia (wife Michelle) and Adam Silvia (partner David); her great grandsons: Matthew and Joseph; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Anthony Ferry.

Her burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, in Bourne, is private. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, December 17th, at 11am at St Mary’s Cathedral, Second Street, Fall River.
