Steven J. Arruda

Steven John Arruda of Fall River passed early morning September 24, 2018 after a short but heartbreaking battle with pancreatic cancer. Steve was deeply loved by his family and friends, and was often looked at as a protector of those he loved. Steve loved riding his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle, watching old Westerns and Sci-fi, and taking his camper up to New Hampshire (his favorite place).

He was the son of the late John F. Arruda and Irene C. (Aguiar) Arruda, and the beloved brother of Patricia A. Fournier and her husband Roland, Gilbert Owens and his wife Sylvia, the late Diane (Owens) Reading, the late Anthony Arruda and his wife Diane , and Eugenia (Arruda) Jordan and her fiancé David. He is survived by his nieces Dawn (Fournier) Alberts, Kayla Vasconcellos, and Kady Vasconcellos, his Godson Richard Alger, his girlfriend of 17 years Lorine Travers who was the love of his life and his selfless caregiver, as well as many close friends and extended family.

Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday, October 12, 2018 at 7 PM at Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St. Fall River, MA. Calling hours will be held from 4 - 7 PM, prior to the service.
