Sarah Dupont

Sarah (Viveiros) Dupont, 86, formerly of Shove St., Tiverton, RI, died Tuesday at Southpointe Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center. She was the wife of the late Frank Dupont.

Born in Tiverton, RI, she was a daughter of the late Mariano and Brazalina (Silvia-Ferreira) Viveiros, she lived in Tiverton for most of her life and was a communicant of Holy Ghost Church. She was a former member of the Ponta Delgada Ladies Auxiliary, Ladies of St. Anne's of Holy Ghost Church, Ocean State Seniors, Tiverton Senior Center and St. Theresa's Senior Club.

A hand presser for many years in the garment industry; she retired in 1986 from the former Samesta Mfg. She previously worked at the former Mayfair Dress Co.

She is survived by two daughters, Pauline Valentine of Tiverton and Sharon Desrosiers and her husband Alan of Delaware; a son, Paul Dupont and his wife Brenda of Tiverton; a brother, John Viveiros of Tiverton; four grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother-in-law of the late Richard Valentine and the sister of the late Mary Souza, Georgianna "Georgie" Vincent and Emily Casemeiro.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church. Interment in Pocasset Hill Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 4 - 8 p.m. www.oliveirafuneralhomes.com
