Russell R. Mathews

Russell R. Mathews, 70, of Fall River, formerly of Tiverton R.I., passed away on Wednesday August 10, 2022 at home surrounded by his father and close friends after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Fall River, he was a son of Sayers Mathews and the late Rita (Levesque) Mathews. Prior to retiring, Russell was a co-owner of My Daily Grind Pizza Place, in the former Harbor Mall, and worked prior as a cutter in the local textile industry.

Russel was the most generous man you could ever meet and the most amazing best friend a person could ever ask for. Those lucky enough to be in his life will be forever touched by his unwavering positivity, kindness and ability to always make you smile. He loved Sci-fi movies, comedy, computers and enjoyed working on cars.

Along with his father, survivors include his life-long friend and caretaker: Ginger Gibson, of Fall River; her children: Kolton Dube, Benjamin Dube, Korrina DaSilva, and the late
Krystine Leigh DeMedeiros; brothers: Donald and Robert Mathews. He was also the brother of the late Joyce Matthews.

His visitation will be held Saturday, September 10, from 10AM - 12 PM at Oliveira Funeral Home - South Main St. Chapel, 2064 S Main St, Fall River, MA 02724.
