Russell Chace

Russell Chace, 91, passed away peacefully on Monday January 13, 2025 at Our Lady's Haven in Fairhaven, MA, surrounded by his loving family. 

    He met and married the love of his life, the late Patricia (LaPointe) Chace in Swansea and they were married for 56 years. 

    Russell, the son of the late Leon E. Chace and the late Pearl E. (Chellew) Chace, was a Swansea resident most of his life and owned several properties in the Ocean Grove area. He was well known as a hard worker, and later created his own wallpapering, painting and roofing business in the community. He enjoyed boating, camping, motorcycles and especially, hosting New England Clambakes for his loved ones. 

    Russell leaves behind his sister, Norma Mayes, (late husband Bert), in California and brothers John and Robert in Florida, as well as his late brothers, Arnold, Garvin and Gene. He was the step-father of the late Richard Roy.

    In addition, he leaves his son, Kenneth Chace and wife, Celeste of Tiverton RI, son Jeff Chace and Krystina Stykowski of Fairhaven, daughter Debra (Chace) Gifford and husband Robert of Swansea and daughter Terre ( Chace) Valerio and late husband, John, of Somerset.

    His grandchildren include Lauren Iwanski, Brittany Pacheco, Jacob Chace, Samuel Chace, Andrew Chace, Kaylee Chace and Madison Chace. He has six great-grandchildren, Tyrin, Gabriella, Dante, Nathan, Jaxon and Iyla. Russell was a dedicated husband, brother, father and grandfather, who deeply loved his family and friends.
