Rozalina Medeiros DaSilva, age 93, of Fall River, died Saturday, November 28, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Agostinho Bernardo DaSilva, with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage. Born in Mosteiros, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Francisco and Gloria dos Reis Medeiros. She was a parishioner at Santo Christo Church and worked as a seamstress before becoming a homemaker and taking care of her many grandchildren.

Rozalina enjoyed embroidery and crochet, creating countless blankets for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a true matriarch who lived to make her family happy, and nothing made her happier than being surrounded by them. She was the loving mother to her children Lucia Silva Pavao (husband Carlos) of Fall River, Ildo B. DaSilva (wife Benvinda) of Westport, Zelia Maria Fernandes (late husband Helder) of Westport, Angelina Costa (husband Anibal) of Somerset, and Agostinho Silva (wife Eduarda) of Swansea. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

The funeral, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held Friday, December 3rd, 2021, at 8:00 AM, at the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, MA 02721, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St., Fall River. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 8 - 9:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Rozalina’s name to the National Alliance on Mental Illness: NAMI, PO Box 49104, Baltimore, MD 21297.

The family encourages the wearing of masks, social distancing, and paying your respects online if you are feeling ill.

Rozalina Medeiros DaSilva, de 93 anos, de Fall River, morreu no sábado, 28 de novembro de 2021, cercada por seus entes queridos no Hospital Memorial Charlton. Foi a querida esposa do saudoso Agostinho Bernardo DaSilva, com quem partilhou mais de 50 anos de casamento. Nasceu em Mosteiros, S. Miguel, Açores, era filha do falecido Francisco e Glória dos Reis Medeiros. Foi paroquiana da Igreja de Santo Christo e trabalhou como costureira antes de se tornar dona de casa e cuidar de seus muitos netos.

Rozalina gostava de bordar e crochê, criando inúmeras mantas para seus filhos, netos e bisnetos. Ela adorava a sua família e vivia para os fazer felizes, e nada a fazia mais feliz do que estar cercada por eles. Deixa os filhos Lucia Silva Pavao (marido Carlos) Fall River, Ildo B. DaSilva (esposa Benvinda) Westport, Zelia Maria Fernandes (falecido marido Helder) Westport, Angelina Costa (marido Anibal) Somerset, e Agostinho Silva (esposa Eduarda) Swansea. Deixa 11 netos, 9 bisnetos e 1 trisneta.

O seu funeral, para o qual estão convidados família e amigos, será realizado na sexta-feira, 3 de dezembro de 2021, às 8 AM, na Casa Funerária de Oliveira, 215 Columbia St, Fall River, MA 02721, seguido de Missa de Sepultamento Cristão às 10 AM na Igreja de Santo Cristo, Columbia St., Fall River seguindo para o Cemitério de St. Patrick, em Fall River. O horário de visita será das 8 AM às 9:30 AM.
