Rosa Cabral

Rosa Cabral, better known as Rosa Carvalho, 93, of Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Center, 4901 North Main St., formerly of Mate Dr.,Fall River, died Monday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Horacio Carvalho.

Born in Porto Formoso, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Genevieve Cabral; she lived in Furnas for many years before emigrating to this country in 1979. Mrs. Cabral was a homemaker. She was a member of Santo Christo Church, its choir and Holy Rosary Sodality.

She is survived by four daughters, Lucia Sineiro (husband Manuel) of Fall River, Norma Pacheco (husband Valter) of Fall River, Ana Almeida (husband Jose F.) of St. Michael, Azores and Rosa Carvalho (husband Nelson) of Fall River; three sons, Antonio J. Carvalho (wife Gilberta) of St. Michael, Azores, Joao Carvalho (wife Margaret) of Fall River and Carlos C. Carvalho (wife Bibiana) of Fall River; a sister, Estrela Matos of New Zealand; a daughter-in-law, Conceicao Carvalho; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Gualter Carvalho and the sister of the late Maria do Espirito Santo Carreiro and Irene Matos.

Her funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church, Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Wednesday 5-9 p.m. www.oliveirafuneralhomes.com
