Rita Lavoie

Rita (Chandler) Lavoie, 89, of Bracket Ave., Tiverton, formerly of Hooper St., a homemaker, died Tuesday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Lionel E. Lavoie.
Born in New Bedford, MA, she was a daughter of the late Robert A. and Lydia (Richards) Chandler; she lived most of her life in New Bedford and Tiverton. Mrs. Lavoie was a communicant of St. Theresa Church in Tiverton. She was a former active member of Holy Ghost Parish with many years of dedicated service.
She is survived by four daughters, Lisanne Lavoie-Binkowski (fiance Mark Altenberg) of Swansea, IL, Lindia Harbaugh (husband Brian) of Raleigh, NC, AnnMarie Desrosiers of Tiverton and Rochelle Greene (husband Ed) of Tiverton; seven sons, Alvin C. Lavoie (wife Cathy) Lansdale, PA, Eugene Lavoie (wife Melody) of Tiverton, Raymond Lavoie (wife Debra) of Fall River, Michael Lavoie (wife Janet) of Tiverton, Richard Lavoie (wife Cheryl) of Suffield, CT and John Lavoie (wife Vicky) of Stafford, VA and Lionel E. Lavoie, Jr. of Cantonment, FL; 29 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral will be held Saturday at 7:30 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at 8:30 a.m. in St. Theresa Church. Interment in Newport Memorial Park, Middletown.
