Richard J. "Dynamite Estrella

FALL RIVER… Richard J. “Dynamite” Estrella, 79, of Fall River passed away August 13, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.

He was the husband of Jane M. (Ferreira) Estrella to whom he was married for 59 years.

Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late John and Olivia (Lawrence) Estrella and had been a lifelong resident of this city.

Mr. Estrella was a communicant of Holy Name Church and had worked for 25 years as a Maintenance Supervisor for the Fall River Housing Authority, retiring in 2001. He was a member of Elks Lodge #118 in Fall River. An avid sports fan, he loved the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots and never missed a game. He also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods and the dog track (where he worked for 18 years), morning coffee with his friends and spending time with his family.

Along with his wife, survivors include his daughters: Jane Larrivee and her husband David of Fall River, Lisa Young and her husband Chris of Fall River and Kelly Estrella of New York; his sister Judith Tavares of Tiverton; his grandchildren Richard, Nicholas, Danny, Thomas, David, Meghan and Matthew; 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Richard Estrella and brother of the late Barbara Cyr and John Estrella.
