Pauline Carvalho

Pauline D. (Fortier) Carvalho, 76, of Fall River, died Thursday at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the wife of the late Carlton M. Carvalho, Sr.

Born in Somerset, MA, she was a daughter of the late Archie and Aurora (Charron) Fortier; she was a Tiverton resident for most of her life.

Mrs. Carvalho was the former owner and operator of DJ's Variety in Tiverton and worked as a supervisor for many years at Westrex. She also worked for a housecleaning agency and for Stop and Shop.

She is survived by two sons, Carlton Carvalho, Jr. of Tiverton and Jeffrey Carvalho of Riverside, RI; two sisters, Dorothy Estrella of Fall River and Phyllis Fitzpatrick of MI; five grandchildren, Joshua A. Carvalho, Darius M. Carvalho, Adam Carvalho, Matthew Carvalho and Meghan Carvalho; and a great-grandson. She was the mother of the late Paula Carvalho and sister of the late Roger Fortier.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 8 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church. Interment in Pocasset Hill Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
