Osvalda P. (de Medeiros) Camara

FALL RIVER… Osvalda P. (de Medeiros) Camara, 77, of Fall River passed away January 4, 2021 at St. Anne’s Hospital.

She was the loving wife of the late Gilberto Camara, who she had been married to since 1970.

Born in St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel de Medeiros and Maria Pavao.

Mrs. Camara had worked for many years as a seamstress at various mills in the city, including Modern Dress, Spectrum Mfg., and others. She was a communicant of Santo Christo Parish, since 1970, and enjoyed sewing, cooking, and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Elizabeth Ferreira (husband Wayne), of Pawtucket, RI, and David Camara (wife Kristen), of Somerset; her sisters: Leonarda de Medeiros, Ana Maria Martins, and Ana Beatrice Lacroix, all of Fall River; her grandchildren: Dylan, Gavin, and Kallie; several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel and Fernando de Medeiros.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday, January 14th at 8 AM from Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. Fall River, MA 02721 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM at Santo Christo Parish, Columbia St. Fall River. Interment will be private. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5 PM to 8 PM.
