Orandina L. "Lil" Ferreira

Orandina L. "Lil" (Pacheco) Ferreira, 100, of Somerset, formerly of Hilton St., Tiverton, RI, died Sunday at Somerset Ridge Center. She was the wife of the late Manuel Ferreira, former Deputy Chief of the Tiverton Police Dept.

Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Jacinta (Cabral) Pacheco; she lived in Tiverton for most of her life and was a communicant of Holy Ghost Church and former member of its Woman's Guild. She was a former member of the No. Tiverton Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary.

She worked as a seamstress for many years in the local garment industry, retiring in 1963 from the former Floral Fashions. Mrs. Ferreira was a loving mother and grandmother and always had a smile on her face.

She is survived by two daughters; Janet L Rezendes (Husband Everett) of Livonia, MI and Elaine M. Ferreira of Berkley, MA; a son, Edward M. Ferreira (Wife Joan) of San Antonio, TX; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind Sandra Hayward (Who she thought of as a 3rd daughter). She was the sister of the late John Pacheco, Sr., Gladys Ferreira, Mary Carreira, Frank Pacheco and Peter Pacheco.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
