Odelia Chartier

Odelia (Almeida) Chartier, 89, of Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Care Center, 4901 North Main St., Fall River, died Wednesday at the center. She was the wife of the late Frederick B. Chartier.

Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late Mariano and Adelina (Canario) Almeida; she was a lifelong resident of this city.

Mrs. Chartier worked as a sewing machine operator for many years at the former Kim & Jim Mfg. and the former Royal Garment of Fall River.

She is survived by her niece and god-daughter, Elizabeth A. Terceiro of Warren, RI; her nephew and god-son Joseph Henriques of Fall River; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews, Scott Terceiro, Eric Terceiro, Nicole Henriques and Stacy LePage. She was the sister of Manuel da Silva, Mary Henriques and Manuel Almeida.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Visitation morning of funeral 7:45 - 8:45 a.m.
