FALL RIVER… Normand H. Ouellette, 84, of Fall River passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family.

He was the loving husband of the late Constance J. (Therrien) Ouellette to whom he had been married for 62 years prior to her passing.

Born in Manchester, NH, he was a son of the late Freeman and Jeannette (Parent) Ouellette.

Mr. Ouellette had worked as a Money Room Captain and Mutuel Clerk at the horse and dog tracks, a job he loved doing for 35 years before his retirement in 2000. In his retirement, he was able to enjoy fishing and golfing. He was also an avid sports fan, rooting for the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox along with being a John Wayne and cowboy movie fan. His favorite religious poem was footprints in the sand.

Survivors include his three daughters: Susan Mello and husband John of Fall River, MA., Nancy Coutu and husband David of Manchester, NH, and Linda Forgione and husband Ralph of Revere, MA; six grandchildren: Jessica Coutu and Fiancé Matthew MaGuire, Lauren Ward and husband Ben, Ashley Coutu, Amber Forgione, Anitrea Provencher and Rachel Ouellette; five great-grandchildren: Deziree Boutin, Ava Boutin, Kylee Boutin, Owen Boutin, and Corbin McKay; his sister: Irene Gray and husband Wayne; his brother: David Ouellette and wife Bonni; his sisters-in-law: Helene Ouellette and Gloria Roberts; his brothers-in-law: Carl Therrien and Robert Smagula; several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Steven Ouellette, Gary Ouellette and Robert Ouellette and brother of the late Roland Ouellette, Bert Ouellette and Lucille Smagula.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
