Normand R. "Butch" Cayer, 70, of Sodom Road, Westport, MA, died Monday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Marion L. (Worthington) Cayer.
Born in Fall River, MA, a son of the late Albert R. and Jeannette (Levesque) Cayer, he resided in Westport for the past 37 years.
Mr. Cayer had worked as a supervisor for Elbe File & Binder Company for 15 years, later he worked for Dover Stamping as a general manager for 20 years. He most recently worked as a greeter for Walmart in Dartmouth.
Mr. Cayer coached many softball teams at Father Kelly Park for the Scholarship City Softball League.
He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics and the Boston Bruins.
Besides his wife of 38 years, he is survived by 2 sons, Gary R. Cayer of Tiverton and Jeffrey W. Cayer of New York, 2 granddaughters, Courtney Cayer and Brittany Cayer, 2 nieces, Sheila and Doreen. He was the brother of the late Ronald Cayer. Also, his 3 dogs, which he loved, Bella, Nicky and Lucky.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in the Oliveira Funeral Home 2064 South Main St. Interment is private. Calling hours prior to funeral service 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Forever Paws 300 Lynwood Street Fall River, MA 02721.
