Milton B. Rego, 76, of Fall River, a retired painting contractor, died Sunday, November 16, at Royal of Fairhaven Nursing Home in Fairhaven. He was the husband of the late Pauline (Marshall) Rego.
Born in Fall River, MA, he was a son of the late Manuel Bernardo Rego and Mary (Reis) Rego, he was a life long resident of Fall River. Mr. Rego was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School and received his Real Estate Brokerage certificate in 1970 from Lee Institute, Brookline, MA and attended Johnson and Wales College. He served in the United States Navy aboard the Battleship USS Wisconsin BB-64.
He was the owner of Rego Painting Co. and worked for the Painters & Allied Trade District, Council No. 35.
He is survided by a daughter,Debra A. Powell and her husband Jason of Fall River; two sons, Steven Rego and his wife Sherri of Tiverton, RI and Michael Rego and his wife Maria Grace of Somerset, MA. He was the father of the late Kenneth Jack Rego. As one of sixteen children, he is survived by two sisters, Ana Beaty of Atlantic Beach, FL and Rose Davis of Swansea, MA; three brothers, Edward Rego of Somerset, MA, Raymond Rego of New Bedford, MA and Amos Rego of Fall River; seven grandchildren;five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Manuel Rego of Colorado, William Rego of Chicago, Illinois, Louis Rego of Maine, George Rego and Thomas Rego, both of Fall River, Mary Smith of Louisiana, Delores Bensle of South Carolina, Alice Rice of Florida and Hilda DeCarlo of Tiverton.
Family and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Tuesday, November 25th at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church, Stafford Road, Fall River. Burial of cremains will be in the Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are omitted. Repast to follow at White's of Westport Restaurant.
