Michael Simao

Michael Simao, 45 of Atlanta, GA left to be in the arms of our Lord on October 26, 2017.
He was born and raised in Fall River, a son of Jose and Fatima Simao. In 1996, He moved to Atlanta to start a new chapter in his life.
During his time in Atlanta, Michael was able to reach out and touch so many lives. An example would be when a friend touched base with Michael after not having communication with him and letting Michael know that his time was short. You see, Michael had a friend named Keith who had Kidney Disease. After not being able to be matched to a donor in his family, or on the donor list, knowing Keith's time was limited on this earth, without hesitation, Michael immediately jumped into action and offered one of his kidneys to Keith. Michael went through with the surgery and was able to save Keith's life.
Michael was also a beloved owner of many pets and was able to start a mission to help save animals. He opened his home and pet rescue, St. Michael's Pet Rescue, where he was able to save and place so many animals with great homes. If you knew Michael, you knew this was his life's passion.
Survivors include his sisters; Kathleen Arruda and her husband Paul & Joann Kershaw and her husband Kevin, his brothers; Bruce Simao, Scott Simao and his wife Lucy, Jason Simao, & Joshua Simao and his wife Kayla, 5 nieces, 4 nephews, 3 great nieces, 4 great nephews, several aunts, uncles, cousins & friends.
Memorial visitation o which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday, November 3, 2017 from 6 - 8 PM at Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 S. Main St. Fall River, MA with a Memorial Service at 7 PM in the funeral home.
