Mary (Silvia) Medeiros

COVENTRY, RI… Mary (Silvia) Medeiros, 98, of Coventry, RI, formerly of Tiverton, passed away April 5, 2021 at the Respiratory and Rehab Center of Rhode Island.

She was the widow of the late John R. Medeiros.

Born in Tiverton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Evangelina (Machado) Silvia.

Mrs. Medeiros was employed for many years as a Sewing Machine Operator at Floral Fashions in Tiverton, prior to retiring in 1984. She was a former President of the Ocean State Senior Citizens, a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society at Holy Ghost Church, a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, and a member of the Bayview Club’s Drum Corps.

She is survived by her 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late John W. Medeiros and Geraldine Medeiros, and the sister of the late Edward Silvia, Frank Silvia, Alice R. Silvia, Irene Ferreira, Agnes Matthews, Rose Martin, and Georgina.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday, April 12, 2021 at 12 PM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St. Fall River, MA 02724. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday morning from 11 AM – 12 PM, prior to the service.
