Mary Guay

June 14, 1911 — March 28, 2011

Mary (Furtado) Guay, 99, of 2055 G. A.R Highway, Swansea, MA, formerly of Borden West Apts., Fall River, died Monday. She was the wife of the late Henry P. Guay.

Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Medeiros) Furtado; she lived most of her life in Fall River. She was graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School.

Mrs. Guay worked as a hat bander for man years at the former Wiedeman Hat Mfg. She was a member of many clubs and enjoyed traveling with them.

She is survived by two sons, Donald Guay (Wife Barbara) of Fall River and Richard Guay (Wife Mary) of Swansea, MA; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Catherine Rocha and John Furtado.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 7:45 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Swansea Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery.
