Mary Duarte

Mary (Silvia) Duarte, 88, a resident at the Fall River Jewish Home, 538 Robeson St., Fall River, formerly of King St., died Tuesday at the home. She was the wife of the late Edmond R. Duarte.

Born in Fall River, MA, she was a daughter of the late Joseph M. and Guilhermina (Souza) Silvia; she was a lifelong resident of Fall River. A garment worker for many years, Mrs. Duarte retired from the former Korber Hat Mfg. in 1988. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking for her family.

She is survived by her two loving sons, Thomas J. Duarte (Wife Brenda) of Fruit Cove, FL and Richard M. Duarte (Wife Darlene) of Fall River; a sister, Alice Silvia of Fall River; five loving grandchildren, Kimberly Maier, Tasha Harrison, Christopher Duarte, Kristen Duarte and Jennifer Duarte; two loving great-grandchildren, Melinda Maier and Troy Pacheco; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel Silvia and Eileen Mattos.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 2064 South Main St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Good Shepherd Parish. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
