FALL RIVER… Mary Louise (Rapoza) Camara, 96, of Somerset, passed away July 27, 2021, at Revolution Healthcare Facility at Somerset Point.
She was a widow of the late William T. Camara.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Silvia Rapoza and Antonina Rapoza.
Prior to retiring, Mrs. Camara had worked for many years as a sewing machine operator in the local garment industry. She was a parishioner of St. John of God Church, and the former St. William’s and St. Elizabeth’s churches. Mary enjoyed traveling and was a member of the St. William’s Church Women’s Guild, St. Peter & Paul’s Retiree’s Club, and the Royal Travelers.
She is survived by her sons William Camara (wife Paula), of Northborough, and Robert Camara (significant other Joan Minyard), of South Yarmouth; her grand children Lori Samberg, Alan Camara, Nicole Camara, Elizabeth Camara, and Robert S. Camara; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late Rouel and Daniel Rapoza.
Calling hours will be held Monday, August 2, 2021, from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM,from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St. Fall River, MA 02724. Funeral Mass will be held following the calling hours, at 10 AM, from St John of God Church, Somerset. Burial will be private.
The Camara Family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing, social services and activities staffs that made Mary’s 10 year stay comfortable for her and us.
