Mario DaSilva

FALL RIVER… Mario DaSilva, 76, of Fall River, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023, at St. Anne’s Hospital, surrounded by his family.

He was the loving husband of Maria Isabel (Teodoro) DaSilva.

Born in Nossa Senhora do Rosário, Lagoa, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Mario Alves DaSilva and Maria dos Anjos (Oliveira) DaSilva.

Prior to retiring, Mario was employed as a metal worker. He was a parishioner of Santo Christo Church and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children: Carmen Brake, Isabel Marques, and Mario Silva; his grandchildren: Brianna Marques, Nolan Marques, Ethan Brake, Warren Silva, and Savanna Silva; his siblings: Jose Luis DaSilva, Delores Mendes, and Teresa Viveiros; several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Pedro Silva and the brother of the late Joao Silva..

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105..

A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 9, from 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM, from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St., Fall River. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
