Marilyn Pontes

FALL RIVER – Marilyn S. Pontes, age 75, passed away on Friday, May 4th after a life long battle with Polio.
Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Olivia (Soares-Rua) Pontes; Marilyn resided in Fall River all of her life; spending her last years at "The Adams House" on Highland Ave. Ms. Pontes was a graduate of the Mount St. Mary's Academy and worked at Davol Rubber in Providence before her retirement
Marilyn enjoyed time spent with family and friends and summers at her cottage in Assonet.
She is survived by her cousin and caretaker, Michael Rua (Wife Denise) of Fall River; cousin, Thomas J. Braga of Plattsburgh, NY; several other cousins; and a dear friend, Lisa Levesque of Westport.
Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 9th at 11:30 a.m. in the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St., Fall River. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Stafford Rd., Fall River.
