Maria (Ricardo) Vieira, 78, of Duke St., Fall River, a retired machine operator, died Wednesday at St. Anne's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Renato J. Vieira.
Born in Vila Da Porto, St. Maria, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jose and Feliciana (Borges) Ricardo; she was a resident of Fall River since 1974 and a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua. She was employed for many years by the former Kerr Mill at Karen Ann Mfg. for many years. Mrs. Vieira enjoyed sewing, gardening, coin and stamp collecting. She also loved spending time with her family.
Mrs. Vieira is survived by two daughters, Salome M. Amaral of Fall River and Rolanda M. Barboza of Dartmouth; two sons, Dino R. Vieira and Fernando R. Vieira; 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jose D. Ricardo and Maria A. Medeiros.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 8 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Committal prayers and interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours Tuesday 5-8 p.m.
