Maria F. (Dos Santos) Vidinha

FALL RIVER… Maria F. (Dos Santos) Vidinha, 87, of Fall River, passed away December 29, 2021, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, in Fall River.

She was the widow of the late Manuel Vidinha.

Maria was born in Vila Franca Do Campo, Sao Miguel, Azores. She was a daughter of the late Antonio De Medeiros Santos and Maria Da Conceicao Casimiro.

Prior to retiring, Mrs. Vidinha worked for over 20 years as a machine operator with the former Quaker Fabrics. She was a parishioner of Santo Christo Church and loved baking, especially making sweet bread and Portuguese biscuits.

She is survived by her children: Cidalia Coreia (Mario), of Gloucester, MA, Arlete Margarida Vieira (Emanuel), of Charlestown, RI, Augustinho Vidinha (Noemia), of Fall River, Paula Braga (Deo), of Gloucester, MA, Cecilia Soares (Jaime), of Westport, Maria Moller (John), of Swansea, Robert Vidinha (companion Anita), of the Azores, and Flavio Vidinha (fiancé Diane), of Fall River; her sisters: Madeline Da Silva and Florcinda Pacheco, both of Fall River; her brother: Joao Santos, of Fall River; 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Maria Da Paz Medeiros and Antonio Santos.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at 9 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. Fall River, MA 02721, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St., Fall River. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held prior to the service, from 9 – 10:30 AM. At the request of the family, masks and social distancing will be required for the services.
