Maria N (Pinto) Tavares

FALL RIVER... Maria Natalia (Pinto) Tavares, 67, of Fall River passed away July 2, 2019 at St. Anne's Hospital.

She was the loving wife of Tiberio C. Tavares.

Born in Sao Pedro Nordestinho, Sao Miguel, Acores, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Juventina (Sousa) Pinto.

Mrs. Tavares and her husband are the former owners of Europa Pastries & Coffee Shop on Columbia Street. She was a communicant of Santo Christo Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing and family cookouts.

Along with her husband, survivors include her daughters: Susana Mendonca and husband Jorge of Mississauga, Canada and Debora Sousa and husband Jorge of Fall River; and her grandchildren: Nicole, Michael, Gabriel and Hugo.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 8 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. Fall River, MA 02721 followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St. Fall River. Internment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Friday from 5-8 PM.
