Maria da Luz (Costa)Rodrigues, 81, of Fall River, died Sunday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Manuel Victoria Rodrigues.
Born in Ribeira Grande, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Audifaco Oliveira Costa and Maria da Luz Oliveira, she immigrated to the United States in 1979.
Mrs. Rodrigues had worked as a jewelry assembler at Swank, Inc. and also as an electronics assembler at Auguat for several years.
She enjoyed cooking for her family, knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by three daughters, Maria C. Rebello of Attleboro; Maria Rodrigues and Belmira Botelho both of Fall River; five sons, Eduardo Rodrigues of Palmcoast, FL; Audifaco Rodrigues, Luis Rodrigues, John L. Rodrigues all of Attleboro; and Robert C. Rodrigues of Swansea; 26 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two nieces. She was the mother of the late Jose Rodrigues, Natalia Rodrigues and Eduardo Rodrigues and sister of the late Jose Oliveira Costa and Jaime Oliveira Costa.
Her funeral will be held on Friday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home 215 Columbia Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 5 - 9 p.m.
