Maria Reis

FALL RIVER… Maria (de Sousa) Reis, 68, of Fall River passed away May 18, 2019 at home surrounded by friends and family.
She was the loving wife of Manuel Reis.
Born in Sao Roque, St. Michael, she was the daughter of the late Joao Sousa and Maria (Tavares) Sousa. She had lived most of her life in the Fall River area.
Mrs. Reis worked as a Machine Operator at the former Quaker Fabric of Fall River for 20 years, prior to her retirement in 2007. She enjoyed knitting, dancing, singing, going to yard sales, eating Boston Cream Donuts and above all, spending time with her family.
Along with her husband, survivors include her daughters: Anna Sousa of Somerset, Sonia Velho, Monica Lenart, and Veronica Reis, all of Fall River; her sons: Paul Reis of Fall River and Roy Reis of Somerset; her sisters: Maria Dos Anjos Ferreira of the Azores and Ana Paula Caciahas of Westport; her brothers: Manuel Antonio Sousa of the Azores, Louis Sousa of Fall River; her grandchildren: Heather, Heath, Natasha, Emanuel, Jr., Jaren, Kailani, Brianna, Christopher, Evan, Izak, Jayden, and Brayden; her great-grandchildren: Landon, Carter, and Madden; and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joao Sousa.
Funeral Mass to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday, June 3, 2019 at 9 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St., Fall River followed by inurnment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
