Maria Jose (Ferraz) Matos

FALL RIVER… Maria Jose “Maryjo” (Ferraz) Matos, 95, of Fall River, passed away Monday, August 7, 2023, at Catholic Memorial Home, in Fall River.

Born in St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Joao Costa Ferraz and Maria (Nascimento) Ferraz.

Prior to retiring, Maria was employed for many years as a sewing machine operator at the former Darwood Manufacturing and Modern Dress. After retiring, she also worked for SER-Jobs for Progress, in Fall River. She was a parishioner of Santo Christo Church.

A visitation will be held Saturday, August 12, from 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM, from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St., Fall River. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
