Maria A. (Rodrigues) Marques, 91, of Catholic Memorial Home, 2446 Highland Ave., Fall River, a retired garment inspector, died Sunday at the home. She was the wife of the late Jaime Marques.
Born in Arrifes, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Francisco and Julieta (dos Resis) Rodrigues; she lived in this country since 1969 and was a member of Santo Christo Church. Mrs. Marques worked as an inspector for many years at the former Bristol Knitting Mills, retiring in 1985.
She is survived by three daughters, Edma Texceira, (husband Laudalino) of Fall River, Luisa Marques (companion Gabriel) of Fall River and Fatima De Melo (husband John) of Fall River; a son, Joseph F. Marques (wife Laura) of Fall River; two sisters, Natalie Silva and Gilda Guilherme, both of Fall River; two brothers, Joao Luis Rodrigues of Fall River and Jose Carlos Rodrigues of Montreal, Canada; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 8 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Visitation morning of funeral from 7_- 8:30 a.m.
