Maria Edwarda Maranhao

Maria Edwarda (Carreiro) Maranhao, 70, of Fall River, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025, at St. Anne’s Hospital.

    She was the widow of the late Jose G. Maranhao.

    Born in St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Mariano O. Carreiro and Irene (Costa) Carreiro.

    Edwarda was a homemaker and enjoyed being around people and having conversations with her friends and family. She loved watching her Sunday Mass on TV, watching her soap operas, and spending time with her cats.

    She is survived by her sister Odalia Moniz (husband Gilberto Moniz), of Fall River, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Herculano and Domingos Carreiro.

    Her funeral mass at Santo Christo Church and interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery is private.
