Maria Jose Vieira

Maria Jose (Teixeira) Vieira, 79, of Ash Street Fall River, died Thursday at home. She was the wife of Manuel Vieira.

Born in Lomba do Alcaide, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Antonio Teixeira Medeiros and Maria de Lourdes (Melo) Teixeira, she resided in Fall River for the past 42 years.

Mrs. Vieira had worked as a fuser for RCM in Fall River for 3 years retiring in 1995, previously she worked for Needlecraft Manufacturing and Priscilla Dress.

She was a member of Santo Christo Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna M. Almeida of Fall River and a son, George Manuel Teixeira Vieira also of Fall River; two sisters, Maria Zeferina Teixeira Mendonca of St. Michael, Azores and Maria Narcisa Teixeira Medeiros of Toronto, Canada; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Maria Luisa Andrade, Maria de Lourdes Melo Teixeira, Antonio Teixeira Medeiros and Alberto de Melo Teixeira.

Her funeral will be held on Monday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home 215 Columbia St. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Entombment in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours Sunday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m.
