Maria H. Medeiros

Maria H. (Monte) Medeiros, 73, of Fall River, died Monday at home. She was the wife of the late Serafin G. Medeiros.

Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel E. and Maria Jose (Travassos) Monte; she lived in Fall River since 1959. Mrs. Medeiros worked as a machine operator for many years in the local garment industry.

She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Almeida of New Bedford, MA and Cynthia "Cindy" Medeiros of Fall River; two sisters, Isabel Camara of Fall River and Julieta Carvalho of New Bedford; two brothers, Gabriel Travassos of Somerset, MA and Vasco Travassos of Dartmouth, MA; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Gloria Medeiros and Manuel Travassos.

Her funeral will be held Saturday from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St.at 8:00, followed by a Funeral Mass 9:00 at Espirito Santo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 4-8 p.m.
