Maria da Trindade Ferreira

Maria da Trindade (Joaquin) Ferreira, 91, of the Catholic Memorial Home, 2446 Highland Ave. formerly of Mulberry St., passed away Wednesday at the home. She was the wife of the late Antonio Ferreira.

Born in Candelaria, St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Manuel and Rita dos Santos (Pavao) Joaquin, she resided in Fall River for the past 35 years.

Mrs. Ferreira was a homemaker. She was a member of Santo Christo Church and a member of its Holy Rosary Sodality and also participated in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

She is survived by 4 daughters, Maria R. Soares of Fall River, Eduarda C. Oliveira of Swansea, Maria M. Carreiro of Somerset and Maria C. Correia of Fall River; a son, Joao M. Ferreira of Fall River; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel Joaquin, Joaquin Santos, Jose Joaquin, Joao Joaquin and grandmother of the late Marco Soares.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:45 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 5 - 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her memory can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society at Santo Christo Church 240 Columbia St. Fall River, MA 02721.
