Maria do Carmo Carvalho

Maria do Carmo (Sousa) Carvalho, 94, of Fall River, died Wednesday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Agostinho A. Carvalho.

Born in Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jose Sousa Pimentel and Maria do Carmo Sousa; she resided in Fall River for the past 46 years. Mrs. Carvalho was a homemaker and a member of Santo Christo Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Fatima Silva of Somerset, MA; three sons, John Carvalho of Swansea, MA, Jose Carvalho of Fall River and Louis Carvalho of Somerset, MA; a sister, Elvira Cabral of Fall River; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Maria Manuela Oliveira.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 7:30 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 8:30 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 5 - 8 p.m.
