Maria Jose (Pereira) Dias

FALL RIVER… Maria Jose (Pereira) Dias, 87, of Fall River passed away October 12, 2019 at Charlton Memorial Hospital.

She was the loving wife of the late Manuel Joaquim Pereira and the late Imberto Dias.

Born in Capelas, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Pereira da Terra and Evangelina (Rita) Pereira.

Mrs. Dias was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Parish. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her sons: Jose M. Pereira of Swansea and Florentino Pereira of Fall River; her daughter: Maria Espirito Santo Salgueiro of Fall River; her brothers: Jose Pereira, Luis Pereira and Laureno Pereira, all of Capelas; her sister: Eduarda Beneviedes of Capelas; 7 grand children; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Metilde Botelho, Izaltina Gaspar, Lurdes Rego Vieira, Manuel Pereira da Terra and Guelhermo Pereira.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 8 AM from Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. Fall River, MA 02721 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St. Fall River. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 6 – 8 PM.
