Maria D. Amaral

Maria D. Amaral, 83, of Cottage St., Fall River, died Tuesday at home. She was the wife of the late Manuel R. Andrade, Jr.

Born in Algarvia, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Angel Moniz Couto and Maria da Gloria Amaral, she resided in Fall River for the past 27 years. She was a member of Santo Christo Church and its Holy Rosary Sodality. She loved family gatherings, nurturing flowers and plants and crocheting.

Mrs. Amaral worked as a packer for a few years at Tillotson Rubber.

She is survived by two daughters, Maria Olinda Estrela of Toronto, Canada and Maria G. Maiato (Husband Mario) of Fall River; two sons, Manuel R. Andrade (Wife Fernanda) of Montreal, Canada and Miguel Andrade (Wife Filomena) of Fall River; two brothers, Joao Amaral of Brazil and David Amaral of St. Michael, Azores; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, a great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:45 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 4 - 8 p.m.
