Maria da Conceicao Cruz

TIVERTON – Maria da Conceicao (Araujo) Cruz, 88, of Tiverton, RI, died Saturday, February 24, 2018. She was the wife of the late Alfred Cruz.
Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Cecilia G. (Terceira) Araujo; she lived in Tiverton for the past 48 years. Mrs. Cruz worked as a presser for many years at the former Shelburne Shirt Mfg.
She is survived by a daughter, Cecilia P. Cruz of Tiverton, RI; a son, John P. Cruz of Fall River; a son-in-law, Ernest P. Smith, Jr. of Tiverton; three grandchildren, Ashley R. Cruz, Josh Benevides and Austin J. Cruz; two step-grandchildren; a great-grandchild, Sylas J. Armstrong; six step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by three brothers and three sisters.
Her funeral will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 at 9 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 2064 South Main St, Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, Judson St., Tiverton. Entombment in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum, Stafford Rd., Fall River. Calling hours Thursday 4-8 p.m.
