Maria E. Correia

FALL RIVER - Maria E. (Correia) Correia, 76, of Fall River, died Saturday, February 18, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Artur M. Correia.
Born in Ponta Delgada, Vila Nova, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Correia Da Costa Borges and Maria de Jesus Borges Moniz; she emigrated to this country in 1967. She was a member of Santo Christo Church. Mrs. Correia worked as a machine operator in the local garment industry for many years.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Susan Correia Pereira and her husband Josimar of Fall River; a brother, Donald B. Moniz of Dartmouth, MA; a sister-in-law, Maria Adelaide Gomes of Fall River; two granddaughters, Nikia M. Gaspar and Shawntyana C. Dias; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Durval Da Costa and Fernando Da Costa.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 8:45 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:45 a.m. in Santo Christo Church, Columbia Street. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Stafford Rd. Calling hours Friday 4-8 p.m.
