Maria Conceicao (Fernandes) De Sousa, 82, of Fall River, died Sunday at St. Anne's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Humberto De Sousa.
Born in Arrifes, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Joao and Maria (Cordeiro) Fernandes; she lived in this city for the past 45 years and was a member of Santo Christo Church. Mrs. De Sousa worked as a stuffer for 27 years at the Bomark Corp.
She is survived by three daughters, Lisete Cabral (Husband Victor) of Fall River, Maria Goretti Carvalho (Husband Mariano) of Fall River and Anna Maria De Sousa (Dear family friend Sue Palmaccio) of Fall River; three sons, Antonio H. De Sousa (Wife Belmira), John M. De Sousa (Wife Olga) and Joe L. De Sousa (Wife Sandra), all of Fall River; a sister, Almorinda Constancia of Fall River; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Idalina Pedro and Delfina Neves.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 8 a.m. from the OLIVEIRA FUNERAL HOME, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Thursday 6 - 8 p.m.
