Maria dos Anjos Dias Araujo

Maria dos Anjos (Carreiro) Dias Araujo, 83, known by "Castanha" by close friends and family, of Fall River, died Wednesday at home. She was the wife of the late Antonio Fernando Dias Araujo.

Born in St. Michael, Azores, she grew up in Sao Roque, and moved to the United States in 1982.

Mrs. Araujo was a homemaker.

She is survived by a daughter, Ana Araujo, 5 sons, Joao Araujo, Valter Araujo, Jose Araujo, Evaristo Araujo and Antonio Araujo. She was a grandmother and great-grandmother to many. She was the mother of the late Olga Araujo and Hermano Araujo.

Her funeral will be held on Monday at 8 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home 2064 South Main St. followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 a.m. in Espirito Santo Church. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday 5 - 7 p.m.
