Maria J. (Rodrigues) Almeida

FALL RIVER…Maria J. (Rodrigues) Almeida, 90, of Fall River passed away April 7, 2021 at Catholic Memorial Home.

She was the loving wife of the late Manuel Almeida.

Born in Arrifes, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jose and Marcelina (Da Ponte) Rodrigues.

Mrs. Almeida was a devout catholic and communicant of Santo Christo Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and music but above anything else, she loved being with her family.

Survivors include her daughters: Mary Jo Cordeiro of Fall River and Rosalina Raposa of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Duarte Manuel Almeida and sister of the late Jose Arruda.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 8 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. Fall River, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St. Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Monday from 5 – 8 PM.
