Manuel S. Medeiros

FALL RIVER…Manuel Sabino Medeiros, 84, of Fall River passed away August 8, 2021, at home, surrounded by his family.

He was the loving husband of Carmelinda (Ferreira) Medeiros.

Born in Mosteiros, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Manuel J. Medeiros and Laurinda Da Conceicao Medeiros.

Before retiring, Mr. Medeiros worked as a Sander at TPI Composites, in RI, and prior as a Fish Salesman in the Azores. He was a parishioner and former choir member at Santo Christo Church. Manuel enjoyed playing the trombone in the Acoreana Band, singing, praying, and talking with family and friends.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughters Teresa Simoes (husband Marino), Judy Pavao (husband Carlos), and Zelia Reis (husband Marco), all of Fall River; his sons Mario Medeiros, of Fall River, and Francisco Medeiros, of New Bedford; 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Maria Jose Medeiros Ferreira and Fernanda Medeiros Raposa.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Thursday, August 12, 2021, at 8:00 AM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St. Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St., Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5 – 8 PM.
