Manuel Pereira Costa

Manuel Pereira Costa, 85, of Fall River, passed away Thursday, December 26th, 2024, at St. Anne’s Hospital, in Fall River.

    He was the loving husband of Maria (Reis) Costa.

    Born in Guimarães, Portugal, he was a son of the late Fernando da Costa and Maria Pereira.

    Before his retirement, Manuel dedicated his career to the construction industry, where his craftsmanship left a lasting impression. He also worked prior as a firefighter in Portugal, a role that showcased his commitment to helping others. A passionate soccer enthusiast, he was a devoted Benfica supporter who took great pride in his homemade wine-making. Above all, Manuel cherished time spent at home, finding his greatest joy in being surrounded by family, especially his beloved grandchildren. 

    Along with his wife, he is survived by his daughter Maria Silva (husband Joseph); his daughter-in-law Cidalia Costa; his grandchildren Samantha Costa, Jennifer Silva, Sabrina Costa, and Stephanie Silva; several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Victor Costa and the brother of the late Jose da Costa.

    A visitation will be held Thursday, January 2nd, 2025, from 5 – 8 PM from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., Fall River.

    His funeral will be held the following day, Friday, January 3rd, at 8 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM at Santo Christo Church, Columbia St., Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
