Manuel V. Leite, 78, of Fall River, died Saturday at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Gloria (Feitor) Leite.
Born in Lomba do Loucao, Povoacao, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Jose and Maria dos Anjos (Vieira) Leite, he lived in Fall River since 1979, previously living in Bermuda for 19 years. He was a member of Santo Christo Church.
Mr. Leite was employed as a jewelry processor at Swank Mfg. He previously worked as a chef at the Reefs Hotel in Bermuda.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Maria de Deus Leite of Fall River and Nelia Cateon (Husband Fern) of Fall River; two sons, Jorge M. Leite (Wife Ines) of Somerset, MA and Paul M. Leite (Wife Penni) of Greensboro, NC; a brother, Antonio Leite of Fall River; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Maria da Paz, Maria Jorge, Maria Conceicao, Joao, Jose and Ciciliano
His funeral will be held Saturday at 8:45 a.m. from the Oliveira Funeral Home, 215 Columbia St., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:45 a.m. in Santo Christo Church. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours Friday 5-9 p.m.
